La diputada Ingrid Schemelensky propuso al Pleno de la LX Legislatura del Estado de México, exhortar a la Secretaría de Salud para que intensifique las acciones de prevención, diagnóstico oportuno y atención integral de cáncer de mama en todas sus etapas; así como exhortar al gobierno estatal a que considere en el Proyecto de Presupuesto de Egresos para el Ejercicio Fiscal 2021, los recursos necesarios para la implementación de políticas públicas de prevención, diagnóstico oportuno y atención integral de cáncer de mama en todas sus etapas y para programas de reconstrucción mamaria.
La legisladora del PAN, detalló que “en 2019, en México se presentaron 14,200 nuevos casos de cáncer de mama, y el Estado de México ocupó el 4o lugar con más casos reportados, tan solo después de los estados de Jalisco, Ciudad de México y Morelos”.
Refirió que el cáncer de mama tiene un índice de curación del 97% si se detecta en etapas tempranas y un 60% en tasa de curación, cuando el tumor se detecta en etapa avanzada.
Schemelensky enfatizó que “octubre es el mes de la lucha contra el cáncer de mama, como un recordatorio del compromiso de toda la sociedad de luchar contra esta enfermedad, el objetivo es contar con un mes de sensibilización para que la atención de la sociedad aumente en torno a este tema, especialmente para contribuir a la detección oportuna, el tratamiento adecuado y los cuidados posteriores”.
La también Vicecoordinadora del GPPAN mexiquense señaló que “en el presupuesto de egresos de nuestra entidad, se deben considerar los recursos necesarios para atender esta enfermedad, a fin de garantizar una atención integral y la reconstrucción mamaria”.
Datos de la Dirección General de Información en Salud dependiente de la Secretaría de Salud, señalan que al 2018, se contaba con 782 mastógrafos a nivel nacional, concentrándose 135 equipos en la Ciudad de México y 49 equipos en el Estado de México; mientras que del total de estudios de mastografía realizados por instituciones públicas, los mayores porcentajes se han realizado en la Ciudad de México (29.4%), Veracruz (6.7%) y Nuevo León (6.3%), ubicando en 14o lugar a la entidad.
La legisladora panista reveló que el número de consultas en la entidad, ha incrementado un 15% en los últimos 4 años, cifra por la que la Secretaría de Salud debe intensificar las campañas permanentes de prevención y protección del cáncer de mama para que acerque caravanas de salud en las localidades de menor acceso, refuerce las campañas de difusión y brinde una atención integral a las mexiquenses que sufren este padecimiento. El punto de acuerdo fue aprobado por el Pleno de la LX Legislatura del Estado de México.
