En la madrugada del 25 de julio, un socavón de aproximadamente 10 a 12 metros de diámetro se formó en el cruce de la avenida López Mateos y Anillo Periférico, en Zapopan, Jalisco.
La formación del socavón, resultado de las intensas lluvias que afectaron el Área Metropolitana de Guadalajara, llevó al cierre total de la circulación en la zona.
El gobernador de Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, confirmó que el socavón se produjo por el colapso del soporte del puente debido a la fuerte lluvia que incrementó el caudal del Arroyo Seco.
Los equipos de la Secretaría de Infraestructura y Obras Públicas (SIOP), el Sistema Intermunicipal de los Servicios de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado (Siapa), el gobierno de Zapopan y la Policía Vial de Jalisco están en el lugar realizando evaluaciones para determinar las causas exactas del incidente y planear las reparaciones necesarias.
Mientras tanto, las autoridades acordonaron el área para garantizar la seguridad y recomendaron a los automovilistas evitar la avenida López Mateos y buscar rutas alternas.
