Para salvaguardar la integridad física de los automovilistas que sobrepasan el límite del alcohol en la sangre para poder conducir, se implementó el Programa Preventivo “Si Tomas, Toma Conciencia”, el operativo estuvo encabezado por Eduardo González Castillo, Comisario de la policía municipal.
Este operativo no implicó la aplicación de una sanción administrativa, por lo que la Dirección de Seguridad Pública y Tránsito auxilió a los conductores y sus acompañantes, para que llegaran con bien a sus hogares.
De 13 automovilistas a quienes de manera aleatoria se les aplicó la prueba del alcoholímetro, 11 resultaron positivo, 9 hombres y 2 mujeres; mientras que 2 dieron negativo, un hombre y una mujer.
Asimismo, policías de Tránsito informaron sobre este Programa Preventivo, entrevistaron y realizaron una inspección visual y de aliento a un centenar de conductores a bordo de sus automóviles.
Un médico del DIF, un visitador de la Defensoría Municipal de Derechos Humanos, un representante de la Contraloría Municipal y el presidente de la Comisión de Honor y Justicia de la Policía Municipal, asistieron en todo momento a los ciudadanos que se les aplicó la prueba de alcoholemia.
