La Secretaría de Infraestructura del gobierno del Estado de México lleva a cabo, en este periodo vacacional, trabajos de mantenimiento a la Planta de Tratamiento El Capulín, ubicada en Lomas de la Herradura, Huixquilucan, la cual estuvo un año abandonada.
La planta, que tiene una capacidad de tratamiento de 50 litros por segundo, beneficia a 10 mil habitantes de la región, al tratar las aguas residuales en esta zona residencial, las cuales en ocasiones generan malos olores en las inmediaciones del vaso regulador, explicó José Manuel Camacho Salmón, vocal ejecutivo de la Comisión de Agua del Estado de México (CAEM).
Agregó el funcionario que los trabajos en esta planta cumplen con los parámetros establecidos en la Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-003-SEMARNAT-1997, que establece los límites máximos permisibles de contaminantes para las aguas residuales tratadas que se rehúsen en servicios al público.
Recordó que la planta de tratamiento de la Presa El Capulín es operada directamente por la CAEM a través del Programa de Incentivos que tiene el organismo en coordinación con la Comisión Nacional del Agua (Conagua).
El sistema de tratamiento de aguas residuales, construido en el año 2014, se entregó a finales de ese mismo año al gobierno municipal, pero se hizo la petición de regresar la custodia y operación de dicha infraestructura a la Comisión, solicitando el apoyo del gobierno estatal para que tuviera una adecuada operación.
Camacho Salmón destacó que la planta de tratamiento El Capulín forma parte del saneamiento del Río San Joaquín, en donde se vierten las aguas provenientes de dicha planta.
