El Gobierno de la Ciudad de México anunció una inversión de mil 730 millones de pesos para la modernización de la Línea 2 del Metro, considerada la principal vía de acceso al Estadio Banorte, una de las sedes de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026, que recibirá cinco partidos, incluido el inaugural.
En el Primer Informe de Gobierno de Clara Brugada, se detalló que los recursos se destinarán a la rehabilitación de trenes, estaciones y sistemas eléctricos, además de reforzar la infraestructura de apoyo como subestaciones, cárcamos y la red contra incendios.
as obras contemplan:
- Revisión general de 28 trenes NM-02 y rehabilitación de cuatro más.
- Modernización del sistema de información al usuario en ocho estaciones.
- Cambio de imagen en estaciones superficiales con criterios de accesibilidad universal.
- Rehabilitación de 25 subestaciones de alumbrado y 25 cárcamos.
La jefa de Gobierno explicó que este proyecto busca atender tanto a residentes como a visitantes, con beneficios que se mantendrán más allá del torneo.
De manera paralela, se llevarán a cabo trabajos en los Cetram Huipulco, Universidad y Taxqueña, así como la construcción de la Línea 14 del Trolebús Eléctrico, que conectará la estación Universidad de la Línea 3 con Huipulco a lo largo de 6.6 kilómetros.
En el Pueblo de Santa Úrsula, cercano al Estadio Banorte, también se proyecta el desarrollo de espacios comerciales con el proyecto Coyosauria, que ha enfrentado oposición vecinal al plantearse en un área verde de relevancia ecológica.
El Gobienro de la CDMX subrayara que la organización del Mundial 2026 representa un catalizador para la modernización del transporte público de la ciudad, con proyectos que impactarán a largo plazo en la movilidad y accesibilidad hacia el estadio y colonias aledañas.
