Como participante de la mesa de análisis de Despierta, programa conducido por Carlos Loret de Mola, el también ex candidato presidencial señaló que además de la suspensión del Programa de Empleo Temporal para el Combate a los Incendios Forestales, el gobierno encabezado por Andrés Manuel López Obrador redujo en 40 por ciento el presupuesto de la Comisión Nacional Forestal (Conafor) y eliminó el fideicomiso con el que se financiaba la Comisión Nacional para el Conocimiento y Uso de la Biodiversidad (Conabio).
“Este gobierno se ha empeñado en destruir y desmantelar a las instituciones ambientales. Prácticamente las ha incapacitado para poder cumplir con sus funciones y tareas (porque) el tema (ambiental) no es prioritario”. GABRIEL QUADRI
El pasado 14 de mayo el subsecretario de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (Semarnat) Sergio Sánchez señaló que el Programa de Empleo Temporal no se eliminó sino que se suspendió, pero reconoció afectaciones en la actividad institucional.
“Semarnat no eliminó el programa. Hay un recorte presupuestal que afecta a todo el gobierno federal y este ha sido uno de los programas que han sido suspendidos (…) Cuando hay un recorte presupuestal también hay afectaciones en las actividades de las instituciones”.
