El Gobierno de México iniciará la cancelación de mil 62 registros de molinos de acero tras detectar que presentan irregularidades, inconsistencias o que simplemente no existen, informó el secretario de Economía, Marcelo Ebrard.
La depuración, que afecta a la mitad de los registros presentados por empresas importadoras, tiene como objetivo cerrar la puerta a la evasión arancelaria y al uso de documentación falsa en la importación de productos siderúrgicos.
Durante la conferencia presidencial, Ebrard explicó que las empresas deben contar con un registro ante la Secretaría de Economía que identifique con precisión la planta siderúrgica —el llamado “molino”— donde se produce el acero importado.
“Nos ordenó la Presidenta que revisaremos uno por uno; son más de dos mil”, indicó el funcionario.
Para verificar la existencia y legalidad de los molinos registrados, la Secretaría realiza inspecciones en seis países del mundo, el más lejano es Malasia, de acuerdo con Ebrard.
El uso de molinos ficticios permite que las empresas eviten el pago completo de impuestos o accedan indebidamente a beneficios fiscales.
“Vamos a impedir que comercializadoras utilicen molinos ficticios para introducir acero al país”, advirtió el secretario, quien subrayó que estas medidas forman parte del Plan México, estrategia del gobierno para fortalecer la economía nacional y proteger la producción local.
Fraudes en textiles y calzado generan pérdidas millonarias
Además del sector siderúrgico, la Secretaría de Economía también emprendió acciones en la industria textil y del calzado, donde se detectaron simulaciones en exportaciones y uso indebido del programa IMMEX.
El 19 de diciembre de 2024, el gobierno federal publicó un decreto que impone un arancel del 35% a 138 fracciones arancelarias relacionadas con textiles confeccionados y calzado.
La medida fue acompañada por auditorías que derivaron en la cancelación de ocho grandes empresas, responsables de importar mercancía por un valor estimado de 24 mil millones de pesos sin cumplir con los requisitos del programa.
Relanzan campaña ‘Hecho en México’ para impulsar consumo nacional
Como parte del fortalecimiento de la industria nacional, Ebrard también anunció el relanzamiento de la campaña “Hecho en México”, con el respaldo del sector privado.
El objetivo es impulsar el consumo de productos nacionales mediante una narrativa de orgullo, identidad y calidad.
“Todo el sector privado se sumará a esta iniciativa. Queremos que lo hecho en México sea lo primero en la mente del consumidor”, señaló el secretario, al destacar que esta estrategia ayudará a generar empleos y consolidar el mercado interno.
