Un agente de la Guardia Nacional murió este martes 6 de mayo tras ser atacado a balazos mientras circulaba en una patrulla por la ciudad de Celaya, en el estado de Guanajuato.
La agresión ocurrió poco después de las 5:00 de la mañana, a la altura de la avenida Tecnológico, justo debajo del puente de la autopista Salamanca-Querétaro, a escasos 100 metros de una base de la misma corporación.
El ataque armado, perpetrado por al menos dos vehículos, sorprendió a los agentes federales cuando realizaban un retorno debajo del puente de Caminos y Puentes Federales (CAPUFE), en una zona donde, según autoridades locales, aún no se había instalado un filtro de seguridad planeado para ese punto.
Bernardo Cajero, director de la Policía Municipal de Celaya, confirmó que el agente herido fue trasladado a un hospital tras la llegada de paramédicos y fuerzas de seguridad, pero más tarde perdió la vida a consecuencia de las heridas.
El mando local, explicó la camioneta estaba en el retorno cuando ocurrió la agresión. Aún no se montaba el operativo, por eso los servicios de emergencia tardaron algunos minutos.
Falta de detenidos y refuerzo de operativos en la zona
Tras el ataque, la zona fue acordonada por elementos de distintas corporaciones de seguridad, mientras peritos de la Fiscalía General del Estado de Guanajuato iniciaban las investigaciones correspondientes.
A pesar del operativo implementado por elementos de las Fuerzas de Seguridad Pública del Estado (FSPE), no se ha reportado la detención de personas implicadas en el atentado.
Hasta el momento, ninguna autoridad estatal ni federal ha ofrecido más detalles sobre los posibles responsables, el móvil del ataque o si existía una amenaza previa contra el personal de la Guardia Nacional desplegado en Celaya.
Guanajuato, el estado con más policías asesinados en 2025
De acuerdo con el registro de la organización civil Causa en Común, el agente asesinado en Celaya eleva a 21 el número de policías caídos en Guanajuato en lo que va de 2025, lo que posiciona a la entidad como la más peligrosa del país para las fuerzas del orden.
Le siguen Sinaloa con 19 víctimas, Michoacán con 12, Guerrero con 11 y Jalisco con 9.
En total, Causa en Común ha documentado 153 asesinatos de policías en todo México al corte del 1 de mayo. Si se contabiliza desde el inicio del sexenio de la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum, el 1 de octubre de 2024, la cifra asciende a 247 agentes muertos: 153 municipales, 80 estatales y 14 federales. Del total, 228 eran hombres y 19 mujeres, con 144 de ellos en activo al momento de su muerte.
El asesinato del agente federal en Celaya expone nuevamente el nivel de riesgo que enfrentan las fuerzas de seguridad en el país y refleja la creciente violencia que afecta a Guanajuato, donde los ataques armados contra elementos de seguridad han dejado un saldo constante de víctimas.
