Luego de quejas vecinales por olores pestilentes y proliferación de ratas, cucarachas y moscas , la Procuraduría de Protección al Ambiente del Estado de México (Propaem) selló el relleno sanitario de Puerto de Chivos, que recibía cada día 900 toneladas de empresas y de los atizapenses.
Con este suman dos confinamientos en esta zona cerrados por autoridades estatales, lo que mantiene en un estado de alerta sanitaria a municipios como Atizapan de Zaragoza y Tlalnepantla, por la acumulación de miles de toneladas de desperdicios en rellenos que han operado de forma irregular .
La Procuraduría Ambiental mexiquense informó que inició el procedimiento administrativo PROPAEM /0187/2018 al tiradero de Puerto de Chivos, por no recibir autorización en materia de impacto ambiental.
Este confinamiento es manejado por comuneros de Atizapán de Zaragoza desde hace meses, por ello autoridades municipales optaron por trasladar cerca de 500 toneladas de los residuos que manejan los atizapenses a un confinamiento ubicado en Cuautitlán Izcalli.
