El Sistema de Transporte Masivo y Teleférico del Estado de México (Sitramytem) presentó el plan de ampliación de la Línea 3 del Mexibús, que se extenderá desde la estación Vicente Villada hasta el Panteón de los Rosales, en el municipio de Nezahualcóyotl.
La titular del organismo, Rosa María Zúñiga, informó que la inversión estatal destinada a la obra de infraestructura civil será de 600 millones de pesos.
El proyecto contempla una extensión de 3.5 kilómetros y la construcción de siete nuevas estaciones: Vicente Villada, Adelita, Carmelo Pérez, La Norteña, Me Voy, Tepozanas y Secundaria 36, hasta el CBTIS 6.
“La intención será buscar la mejor conectividad y, sobre todo, que operativamente sea funcional”, señaló Zúñiga al precisar que el trazo aún se encuentra en fase de análisis.

El plan contempla la operación de 31 unidades articuladas, con conexión directa a la troncal que enlaza Pantitlán, en la Ciudad de México, con el municipio de Chimalhuacán.
“Se está buscando que los autobuses tengan radio de giro, por la angostura de las calles, para que la operación tenga todas las facilidades”, explicó la funcionaria.
La ampliación permitirá reforzar la conectividad con las líneas 1, 5, 9 y A del Metro capitalino, así como con la Línea 4 del Metrobús y la Línea 2 del Trolebús, con el propósito de mejorar los traslados hacia distintos puntos de la zona metropolitana.
De acuerdo con el Sitramytem, el proyecto facilitará el retiro progresivo de alrededor de 300 unidades de transporte público, con el objetivo de reducir el tráfico y ordenar la movilidad en la zona oriente.
Además, seis empresas conformadas por transportistas que operan en la región se sumarán al esquema del Mexibús. “Están de acuerdo en integrarse a este proyecto”, afirmó la titular del sistema.
Beneficios y plazos de ejecución
La ampliación beneficiará a más de un millón de habitantes de Nezahualcóyotl, el segundo municipio más poblado del Estado de México. Se estima que el nuevo tramo atenderá diariamente a 48 mil usuarios.
La Secretaría de Movilidad mexiquense indicó que la licitación para la obra pública se lanzará este año, con el objetivo de iniciar la construcción en enero de 2026.
La tarifa actual de nueve pesos se mantendrá sin cambios, sin costo adicional en los transbordos.
Actualmente, la Línea 3 del Mexibús recorre 18.2 kilómetros, desde Chimalhuacán hasta el Centro de Transferencia Modal (Cetram) Pantitlán, en la Ciudad de México. Este trayecto cuenta con 28 estaciones, dos terminales y una flota de 55 unidades que circulan por avenidas como Peñón, Bordo de Xochiaca, Vicente Villada, Chimalhuacán y Río Churubusco.
El proyecto forma parte del Plan Integral de Intervención de la Zona Oriente, impulsado por el gobierno federal en coordinación con autoridades estatales, con el objetivo de mejorar la movilidad y el transporte público en esta región metropolitana.
