Los mexicanos saben que hay corrupción, pero ellos no son los corruptos, sino “los de arriba”. También afirman ser tolerantes, pero no vivirían con un homosexual. Hay discriminación, pero ellos no discriminan, son sólo algunas de las respuestas otorgadas a una encuesta realizada por la UNAM.
Bajo el nombre de ‘Los mexicanos vistos por sí mismos’, los encuestados afirmaron ser trabajadores, honestos, alegres, corruptos, valientes (“entrones”), ignorantes, conformistas, flojos, nobles, humildes, generosos, borrachos, machos, groseros, ingeniosos, chaparros, morenos, gordos y bigotones.
En otros temas, el 92% de los encuestados afirmó que en México hay corrupción y la considera el segundo problema más importante, después de la inseguridad y antes que el narcotráfico.
A la pregunta “¿qué tan honesto se considera usted mismo en escala del 0 al 10?”, un 34% se puso 8 como calificación, seguido de 7, 9 y 10; además que 7 de cada 10 consideran que en el sector público hay más corrupción que en el privado o social.
