La migración de haitianos en municipios conurbados de la Ciudad de México, entre ellos los municipios de Atizapán y Tlalnepantla es un fenómeno visible en las calles, por lo que autoridades municipales y de derechos humanos de la entidad mexiquense hicieron labor de información entre los migrantes.
En ese sentido Patricia Venegas de El Sol de Toluca dio cuenta de que se trata de haitianos y africanos que buscan trabajo e incluso que se trata de participantes en las Olimpiadas de Brasil 2016.
Tal como se ha dado a conocer en los medios de comunicación es en Tijuana donde se concentra una importante población de haitianos que buscan refugio en México, sin embargo al no poder trabajar han optado por migrar al centro del país.
Entre otras dificultades enfrentan el grave rezago en la Comisión de Atención a Refugiados, que incluso ha recibido una recomendación de la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos CNDH, tal como hemos dado cuenta en Regeneración:
Entonces debido a la presencia de los haitianos en Tlalnepantla y Atizapan quienes al no poder integrarse a las labores productivas se ven obligados a pedir apoyo en las calles, sumándose a los centroamericanos que se trasladan en La Bestia para intentar llegar a los Estados Unidos.
En ese sentido elementos de las áreas de prevención del delito, la Comisión Estatal de Derechos Humanos del Estado de México hicieron un recorrido por las calles de Atizapan para que los migrantes estén informados de sus derechos y evitar abusos y atropellos en su contra.
Dicha actividad incluye sensibilización a funcionarios de dichos municipios para brinden a los refugiados un trato digno conforme a los estándares internacionales de derechos humanos.
En ese sentido el Instituto Nacional de Migración informó que durante 2017 el gobierno de México deportó a cerca de 100 mil personas a diferentes puntos; la mayoría de los países del triángulo norte, a Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras y El Salvador.
