De aprobarse e implementarse, el Plan Mundial de Fraternidad y Bienestar propuesto por el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador ante el Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU, se duplicarían los ingresos de los 750 millones de personas más pobres en el mundo, quienes sobreviven con dos dólares al día, pues propone entregarles de manera directa cuatro dólares.
Este lunes en su conferencia de prensa, el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador señaló que su plan, es una oportunidad para la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) haga algo por los más vulnerables, al asegurar que nunca ha hecho nada trascendente por los más pobres de la Tierra.
“De lograrse significaría un ingreso de 1 billón de dólares y alcanzaría en promedio para entregar como mínimo cuatro dólares por persona a quienes reciben hoy dos dólares diarios. Entonces la propuesta es que la ONU se haga cargo de este plan porque nunca han hecho nada trascendente por los pobres de la tierra y esto es algo concreto”, destacó.
Durante su participación en el debate abierto de alto nivel llamado “Mantenimiento de la paz y seguridad internacionales: exclusión, desigualdad y conflicto» realizado el pasado 9 de noviembre, el presidente criticó el actuar de la ONU.
López Obrador comentó que si existe verdadera solidaridad entre los países del mundo, se podría aplicar el plan que adelantó en su participación en el Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU y que será presentado por México ante la Asamblea General en las próximas semanas.
Recordó que la propuesta para integrar un fondo de 1 billón de dólares para atender a los más pobres del mundo se compondría por tres fuentes de financiamiento:
El cobro de una contribución voluntaria anual del 4%, de las fortunas más ricas del planeta.
Una aportación similar por parte de las 1,000 corporaciones privadas más importantes por su valor en el mercado mundial.
Una cooperación del 0.2% del PIB de los países integrantes del Grupo de los 20.
En el caso de México, al pertenecer al Grupo de los 20, le correspondería entregar alrededor de 60,000 millones de pesos.
El presidente explicó que a este Plan Mundial de Fraternidad y Bienestar podría ayudar el Fondo Monetario Internacional y el Banco Mundial tanto para la recaudación como para la dispersión de los recursos.
