#Nacionales Ola de calor en #SanLuisPotosí deja muertos y satura hospitales en Ciudad Valles
La reciente ola de calor en San Luis Potosí ha causado una crisis de salud pública con al menos 10 personas fallecidas a causa de golpes de calor. Los hospitales en Ciudad Valles y Tamuín han visto un aumento alarmante en el número de pacientes que buscan atención urgente, abrumando sus capacidades.
De acuerdo con reportes de medios locales, la noche de este jueves 9 de mayo, Ciudad Valles, considerada la puerta a la Huasteca Potosina, enfrentó una grave contingencia debido las temperaturas que alcanzaron los 50 grados.
El hospital de zona número 6 del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) reportó una saturación en sus servicios de urgencia alrededor de las ocho de la noche, debido a un aumento significativo en los casos de insolación, deshidratación y golpes de calor.
Aunque el IMSS aún no ha proporcionado un número oficial de fallecidos, empleados del hospital indicaron que, hasta la madrugada del viernes, al menos cinco personas han muerto como consecuencia de las extremas condiciones climáticas.
Los familiares de los afectados, muchos de los cuales también buscaron atención médica, reportaron que el severo calor ha provocado desvanecimientos y desmayos, entre otras complicaciones graves.
El personal médico del hospital se ha centrado intensamente en tratar los síntomas asociados con deshidratación, insolación y golpes de calor, que incluyen fiebre superior a 40 grados, confusión, agitación, piel caliente y seca o sudoración excesiva, náuseas, vómitos, dolor de cabeza y desmayos.
En Ciudad Valles, el campus del Tecnológico Nacional de México mantiene suspendidas las clases desde la noche del miércoles, mientras que en la región también han continuado los “apagones” de energía eléctrica en Tamuín, Tamazunchale y Ciudad Valles.
