Para beneficio de la salud dental de los mexiquenses, crear una cultura de prevención y brindar un mejor servicio, el Instituto de Salud del Estado de México (ISEM) invirtió más de 15 millones de pesos en equipamiento para las unidades médicas con servicio odontológico y maxilofacial.
El secretario de Salud estatal, César Gómez Monge, señaló que es importante que la población acuda al dentista para prevenir enfermedades bucodentales y no solamente cuando esté la urgencia; así como terminar sus tratamientos.
Abundó que para ello, invirtieron 4 millones 276 mil 543 pesos en la compra de 637 cámaras intra orales, que serán colocadas en el mismo número de consultorios dentales, con la finalidad que el paciente vea en una pantalla la magnitud del problema dentro de su boca.
“No es lo mismo que a la persona el odontólogo le describa el problema o que él lo intente ver en un espejito a que lo observe de manera amplia en una pantalla, donde pueda darse cuenta qué es lo que debe atenderse y por qué es importante no interrumpir el tratamiento”, dijo.
Asimismo, aseguró que dichas cámaras servirán para interesar al paciente en realizar tratamientos preventivos, para conocer dónde les hace falta cepillado, qué dientes tienen probabilidad de caries u otros padecimientos.
“Con este equipamiento refrendamos el compromiso con los mexiquenses de brindar el servicio con calidad, tenemos la mejor y más reciente tecnología para atenderlos, que no le pide nada a los hospitales privados y aquí la atención es gratuita”, abundó.
Gómez Monge informó que también invirtieron 10 millones 950 mil 400 pesos para la adquisición de cuatro ortopantomógrafos, con los que se brindará un mejor servicio maxilofacial.
“Les estamos dando las herramientas necesarias a nuestros especialistas. Estos aparatos sirven para tomar radiografías panorámicas de la boca y saber cuando un diente viene mal, las muelas del juicio o cuando es necesaria alguna cirugía como de mandíbula y saber cómo está todo por dentro”, explicó.
Indicó que estos cuatro ortopantomógrafos serán instalados en Hospital “La Perla”, en Nezahualcóyotl; en el “Vicente Villada”, en Cuautitlán; en el Centro Médico “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos”, de Toluca; y en el Módulo de Alamedas, en Atizapán de Zaragoza.
