El ex alcalde en el trienio 2009-2012 fue una #mancha #negra en el panismo del municipio siendo expulsado de este mismo partido por sus diferentes denuncias , entre las que destaca la denuncia por su #esposa Flor de María Fernández, por haberla #golpeado en total estado de #ebriedad.
En 2021 la legislatura panista local interpuso una denuncia por el #desfalco de durante 2006-2009; asimismo, se conformó el peritaje en el que se cuantifica el desvío de recursos federales, por un monto de 37 millones 95 mil pesos, que se atribuye directamente a Gonzalo Alarcon cerrándole la puertas a cualquier candidatura por ese partido. Así lo expusieron en un comunicado en 2021.«Acción Nacional reprueba y rechaza categóricamente este tipo de prácticas que no se sujetan a nuestros principios de doctrina, a nuestra ética y a nuestra vocación en el servicio público.»,
Ya que en 2018 pretendía regresar al partido del cual fue expulsado.
Finalmente fue arropado por el verde con quien intentó ser diputado local el cual no consiguió ganar.
