El presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador reveló que el exmandatario, Vicente Fox, le propuso aumentar el IVA, previo a tomar posesión como jefe de gobierno del entonces Distrito Federal, pero aseguró que se negó.
“Lo primero que me plantea (Vicente Fox) es que teníamos que aumentar el IVA y me pedía apoyo para eso… me dice ‘hay que hacer más grande el pastel’”, dijo López Obrador.
Durante su conferencia matutina en Palacio Nacional, el mandatario sostuvo que la propuesta que le hizo al panista fue “ combatir la corrupción y aplicar un programa de austeridad”.
ostuvo que Vicente Fox, anteriormente, “estaba fresco, no estaba como se puso después, endurecido y amargado, y tenía sentido del humor”.
Acusó que “los tecnócratas corruptos” no iban en sentido de reducir gastos mediante austeridad y mucho menos combatir la corrupción.
