Manlio Fabio Beltrones aseguró que ya no es presidente del PRI y su decisión irrevocable colocó como dirigente a Carolina Monroy, secretaria general del partido y miembro del grupo político del presidente, Enrique Peña Nieto.
Beltrones Rivera dejó de desempeñar el cargo desde ayer. La renuncia fue presentada el lunes pasado en el marco de la sesión de la Comisión Política Permanente del tricolor. A partir de ese momento, el partido entró en una vorágine de interpretaciones sobre el procedimiento a seguir para hacerla efectiva. El artículo 164 de los estatutos priistas señala que el Consejo Político Nacional tiene que conocerla y en su caso aprobarla. Por ello, originalmente los priistas dijeron que citarían a sesión del órgano para procesar el tema; ayer, aclararon que bastaba con darle “vista para los efectos que estatutariamente correspondan”.
“Ya no soy presidente del PRI, he renunciado a esto que ha sido un gran privilegio por congruencia política”, indicó en entrevista con Radio Fórmula y reiteró que el partido está a tiempo de “mirarse hacia dentro” para corregir fallas y mejorar su competitividad electoral. También reconoció que días antes de la elección tenía información de que podrían ganar solo siete de 12 elecciones de gobernador (pero solo ganaron cinco).
Para elegir al sucesor del Beltrones, el partido optará por el mismo método que empleó para elegirlo a él como presidente: asamblea de consejeros.
Carolina Monroy, tendrá hasta 60 días para convocar a esa asamblea para que elija a la dirigencia priista que concluirá su encargo en 2019. Quien resulte electo será responsable de conducir la elección de gobernador del Estado de México en 2017 y la presidencial en 2018. Esta responsabilidad podría recaer, incluso, en la propia Monroy, según los estatutos del tricolor.
“Carolina Monroy asume la presidencia… contando con 60 días para convocar a la asamblea general del Consejo en la que se llevará a cabo la elección o ratificación del presidente sustituto que deberá concluir el periodo estatutario a septiembre de 2019”, puntualizó el PRI, a través de un comunicado.
AMLO no sería mala noticia
En entrevista radiofónica, Manlio Fabio Beltrones también aclaró que, pese a dejar la dirigencia priista, en sus pensamientos no está la candidatura presidencial.
También dijo que no sería una “mala noticia” tener a la exprimera dama, Margarita Zavala como candidata a Los Pinos por el PAN o que el líder de Morena, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, ganara las elecciones presidenciales.
“Nunca lo que decide la mayoría es una mala noticia. Siempre hay que tener buenas lecturas”, indicó.
