Sin embargo, el esfuerzo de distintas agrupaciones de rescate nacional e internacional y voluntarios civiles, no cesa, pues aún siguen trabajando en la búsqueda de sobrevivientes a seis días de la tragedia, justo en el aniversario del terremoto ocurrido en 1985.
Miles de muertos fue el saldo del movimiento telúrico del año de 1985, a diferencia de este tuvo una magnitud en fuerza, diez veces mayor que el del martes pasado. La probabilidad de que se produzca dos potentes sismos el mismo día pero con años de diferencias es del cinco por ciento, y se cumplió.
Por el momento van 69 personas rescatadas sólo en la Ciudad de México, contando a la persona rescatada aún con vida la noche del día de ayer. En 1985, según cifras del Servicio Sismológico Nacional, sostienen que hubo alrededor de cuatro mil personas rescatadas con vida de los escombros.
Con los reportes de la magnitud que tuvo el temblor de hace 32 años en comparación con este del 19 de septiembre, el cual fue diez veces menor, crece la esperanza de vida pues en el de 1985 lograron rescatar a personas hasta nueve días después de la catást
