Las autoridades aduaneras de los Países Bajos han interceptado este miércoles un total de 4.500 kilos de cocaína ocultos entre un cargamento de plátanos que procedía de Costa Rica, lo que supone uno de los mayores hallazgos de esta droga por la Policía holandesa.
En un comunicado, Aduanas explicó que recibieron un aviso de una empresa en Flesinga, en la provincia de Zelanda, que le advirtió de “una irregularidad durante un control de calidad en un cargamento de plátanos” y, durante una investigación posterior, las autoridades encontraron más de 4.500 kilos de droga.
El valor estimado en la calle de este lote de cocaína es de unos 180 millones de euros, según Aduanas.
La droga fue transferida y destruida con la supervisión de Aduanas, la Fiscalía y la Policía del puerto de Rotterdam, por donde habría entrado al país, y se ha iniciado una investigación policial para determinar quién envió la droga en este cargamento de plátanos, del que solo se sabe que procedía de Costa Rica.
