Juan Salvador Camacho Velasco, candidato de Morena a la alcaldía de San Cristóbal de las Casas, en Chiapas, fue retenido durante ocho horas, junto con una comitiva de 20 personas, por habitantes de la comunidad de Los Llanos, por lo que tuvo que pagar 300 mil pesos para ser liberado como sanción por incumplir con la gestión obras prometidas cuando fue diputado local. Los indígenas le colocaron una soga en el cuello para simular su ahorcamiento.
Tras retenerlo, los habitantes de dicha comunidad simularon el ahorcamiento y linchamiento público de Camacho Velasco cuando llegó a esa comunidad el pasado domingo 16 de mayo para hacer un acto proselitista.

En un video circula en redes sociales, se observa al hijo del exregente de Ciudad de México, Manuel Camacho Solís, cuando fue rodeado por la multitud, quienes comenzaron a reclamarle la falta de apoyo y la nula gestión de obra pública que hizo mientras fue diputado local, como lo había prometido.
Por su parte, el comité estatal de Morena condenó “terminantemente todo acto de violencia que desestabilice el ambiente político-electoral y social en la entidad”, pues “no existe ningún pretexto que justifique la inestabilidad física, emocional y sicológica de ningún ciudadano, mucho menos que el hostigamiento sea por cuestiones ideológicas, políticas o por sus creencias personales”.
