El Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE) requerirá a Nestora Salgado información sobre la existencia de su doble nacionalidad, México-estadunidense, pero sólo en caso de ganar un escaño en el Senado.
De ganar su elección, ese será el segundo momento en el que el INE podrá revisar si Salgado cumple los requisitos de ley para ocupar el cargo en el Senado, pero hoy por hoy el registro de la activista como candidata está firme jurídicamente, plantearon los consejeros Benito Nacif y Marco Antonio Baños.
Nacif Hernández, presidente de la Comisión de Prerrogativas y Partidos Políticos, reiteró que Nestora Salgado, candidata al Senado por la coalición Juntos Haremos Historia, no informó al INE que poseía la doble nacionalidad– como declaró en una entrevista, la semana pasada- por lo que se revisó que cumpliera otros requisitos de ley.
“Sí presentó una acta de nacimiento donde acredita que si tiene el mínimo de edad requerido por ley, que es mexicana, sí presentó una credencial para votar con residencia en Guerrero emitida ocho años atrás y para nosotros eso fue suficiente para acreditar los requisitos positivos. Nosotros no hicimos el requerimiento (sobre la doble nacionalidad) y ella no estaba obligada a decírnoslo” dijo Nacif.
El consejero Marco Antonio Baños, presidente de las Comisiones Unidas de Capacitación y Organización Electoral del INE, planteó que Salgado sí estaba obligada a informar su situación ante el INE y los partidos postulantes también.
Para ambos consejeros, en caso de que salgado gane la elección y se acredite que tiene doble nacionalidad, sería inelegible.
La víspera el PRI indicó que pedirá se revise la legalidad del registro de la candidatura de Nestora Salgado, quien es abanderada al Senado por la vía plurinominal, en el lugar cinco de la lista, y de mayoría, en la segunda fórmula por Guerrero.
En tanto, el representante de Morena ante el INE, Horacio Duarte, dijo que de presentarse una impugnación se defenderá jurídicamente el registro de Salgado, pero descartó anomalías.
Además, “el 28 de marzo se aprobaron candidaturas, hubo cuatro días para presentar impugnación y no conocemos que se haya presentado alguna”.
“Sostenemos que nuestros candidatos cumplen lo que establece la ley. Si ahora un consejero dice que no, habría que preguntar si no revisaron los documentos. Lo que me sorprende es que un candidato presidencial (José Antonio Meade) esté preocupado por una candidata.
“Tan chiquito está que habiendo 4 mil candidatos está hablando de una candidata (y) no de resolver los problemas del país… es un reflejo del extravío político que está teniendo esa campaña”, advirtió.
